Going Big on Twitter
So if the average Twitter user has about 500 followers, what’s to stop you from creating 100 accounts with 500 followers each? That looks like a reach of 50,000 twitter accounts. I think that’s not a bad idea, the execution would be a bitch, however. Let’s see how scaling a few accounts can increase your reach across all of your accounts.
My strategy:
- One Account per topic
- Cross-posting between accounts only when the subject applies
- Frequently build audience on the channels that are of interest to me
- Use Tweetdeck as a tool to manage and monitor all accounts
- Never spam your accounts.
Each of my five Twitter accounts has a very specific topic. Two are associated directly with a single blog. I try and keep the random chatter down.
2. Cross-posting
Occasionally I have a post that reaches nicely across all or most of my accounts. Those are the only posts I cross-post, often via an RT of the main account and original tweet.
3. Frequently Build Audience
Follow, follow, unfollow, follow, follow. Always be following.
4. Tweetdeck
You are using a tool to manage Twitter, right? Tweetdeck, Hootesuite, SproutSocial. If you are trying to manage without a Twitter tool, please get with the times. You’ll never be able to keep up when you begin your multi-account strategy.
5. Spam
Never repeat the same tweet. Never use an auto-tweeting program or auto-responders. Each tweet should be sent by an actual person sitting at a computer. THEN on the outside chance you get a response, you can start a conversation.
There is no reason not to begin building Twitter accounts on different topics. My Fitness blog doesn’t cross over with my Marketing blog very often, but occasionally (Apple Watch Reviews) the Tweet might be of interest to everyone everywhere. Try and come up with more of those tweets and that type of content.
Go forth, tweet honestly and frequently.

Growing a Flock of Followers on Twitter
There’s only one way to grow your Twitter following. Follow others. You may try to create great content, let people know your Twitter ID, and use it as your content signature, like I did/do, but that strategy, even for a blogger that gets 30,000 reads a month, will average you about 2 – 3 new
God, Please Save Twitter from Itself
The author of The Twitter Way, shares his plans for Twitter to once again take over the world. The return of twitterling Dorsey hasn’t exactly rocked the world. That’s too bad, because Twitter may be the most powerful social network, but Twitter is losing a lot of money. And this quarter Twitter for the first
